10 Basic Strength Exercises You Should Know

Welcome to Calisthenic Movement. My epithet is Alex. And in this video, I evidence you 10 basic strength practises. Let’s start with the first exercise, the Scapular Raise or Scapular Raise Hold. This exercise focuses on your back. It appears easy on the first position, but were difficult if you perform it correctly. You hang on a table, let your arms directly and draw your shoulder blades down and together. With military exercises, you activate your lats, trapezius and many other muscles in the back. This exercise is very helpful for your straight limb pluck strength. The next exercise is the Push Up Hollow Body Hold. Push your straight arms powerful towards the field and make a hollow mas position. With that you activate your pushing and core muscles, which include the delts, chest, serratus anterior and your abs. This exercise is helpful for your straight limb pushing strength. The next exercise is a Dip Forward Lean Support Hold.

Again you push yourself up to let your mas move slightly out of the vertical position. The more you elevate your mas out of the vertical position, the harder this film get. This exercise is good to civilize the shoulders, lats, and trapezius, and will also help you to develop straight limb strength. Let’s move on with the Reverse Plank Bridge or Crab Hold. Support yourself with your arms and elevate your pelvis until your mas is in horizontal boundary. Now you activate the backside of your shoulders, trapezius and the whole posterior chain, which includes the erector spinae, the hamstrings, and glutes. The next both activity are the Handstand Walk and the Hold on the Wall. The tread instructs your pushing muscles like shoulders, chest, and triceps in the first place, and also requirement reinforcement of your core muscles to stabilize the body. The Hold On the Wall instructs your trapezius and shoulders. In the same day you mobilize your shoulder joints when you place your wrists (?) very near to the wall. These practises could be (?) the basic strength and mobility for the straight handstand. Let’s go on with the Bear Crawl or Gecko Walk.

Start gradually and always move one limb and the opposite leg forward at the same day. This exercise instructs your whole anterior chain which include abs, delts, chest, hip flexor, and the quadruplets. In addition to that, you get a coordinative civilize. The next exercise is the Arch Hold. Lift your arms and draw your chin to your chest. Avoid to look forward and over-stretch your cervix. Lift a bit of your upper-body as well as your legs. This exercise is perfect to civilize your posterior chain. It instructs your trapezius, erector spinae, the hamstrings and glutes. The exercise to civilize the opposite muscles is the Hollow Body Hold. Here you also draw your chin to the chest and keep your thought in a neutral position. Lift the shoulder blades and legs off the field. This exercise is a very good static abdominal exercise. The last but no least exercise is the Deep Squat Hold. Here we have a lot to pay attention to.

Go down late without losing the tension in the lowest position. The whole paw stays on the field. And you move downward in a straight line. Don’t move the knees too far in front of your ankles. And open your legs when you go down, to give your mas some area. Revolve your pelvis backwards. And pull back your shoulder blades. When you execute military exercises correctly, you don’t simply civilize your legs but also parts of the back and core. “Losing Weight the Healthy Way”

Almost 108 million Americans were overweight or obese in 1999. Until now, obesity continues to be a serious problem and is predicted to reach epidemic levels by the year 2020.

One way to prevent this scenario is to make people aware of the risks of being overweight or obese.

Here are some diseases that you are putting yourself in risk of if you are carrying a lot of extra pounds:

1. heart disease
2. stroke
3. diabetes
4. cancer
5. arthritis
6. hypertension

Losing weight helps to prevent and control these diseases.

The quick weight loss methods which have spread like fire these days do not provide lasting results. More often than not, dieting methods which involve dietary drinks, foods and supplement or pills do not work. If they do, the results are just temporary.

It is better to rely on a healthy weight loss option which will provide lifetime results. You have to set realistic goals and not expect to lose a lot of pounds in a short span of time.

Here are some tips on how you can lose those unwanted pounds the healthy way:

1. Do not starve your self.

The key to a healthier way of losing weight is: Do not diet.

You may seem happy and feel that you are losing those unwanted flabs on your belly and thighs by skipping meals. But remember that this would not last long. Your body cannot tolerate having insufficient food to fuel the energy that you use up everyday.

If you get used to skipping one or two meals a day, your stored calories will be used up instead of the energy that should have been provided by your meals. So if you just eat one huge sandwich in one day, it will end up straight to your problem area (i.e. highs, buttocks, hips).

2. Start your day right.

Mothers always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Have a healthy meal in the morning to jump-start your metabolism.

Your food intake after you wake up will be used to burn fat all day long.

3. Eat small, healthy meals frequently.

Five small-serving snacks per day is better than three hearty meals. Eating more frequently, and in small servings, can prevent over-eating. This will also increase your metabolism and make calories burn faster.

4. Decide on how much weight you want to lose.

Keep your goals realistic. In the long run, it is virtually impossible for you to lose 40 pounds in 2 weeks. Have a mindset that you want to eat healthy to stay healthy for the rest of your life.

Once you have decided on a weight loss plan or program, stick to it and make sure that you follow your own set of dieting rules.

5. Drink lots of water.

Your body needs sufficient water to burn fat and keep your cells hydrated and healthy.

6. Avoid too much sugar.

Plan your meals around lots of fruits and vegetables, some bread, rice or pasta for that carbo fix that you need, plus lean meat and protein rich-foods. Sweets, sodas and pastries should be once-in-a-while indulgences only.

7. Watch your fat intake.

Fat is not the culprit to being overweight. You need this to keep your weight at the proper level.

There is such a thing as healthy fats. Olive, peanuts and canola oil have them. Tuna, salmon and mackerel have omega-3 fats which is good for the heart.

8. Exercise.

Leave your car if you are only going a few blocks from home, take the stairs instead of the elevator, jog, cycle or skate. Use these activites and other home chores if you are too lazy to go to the gym and take exercise classes. Make sure that you do this regularly and you will not even notice that you are already shedding pounds with these mundane activities.

It does not matter how much weight you plan or need to lose. What is important is that you set realistic goals for yourself.

Go slow. If you have already lost 5 or 6 pounds, give yourself a break then try to lose the next 5 pounds.

Eat healthy, drink lots of water, have enough sleep and exercise. This will give you a higher chance of losing weight and improving your health, which would result to a new, healthier you.


Healthy Hispanic Living Continues Latina Breast Cancer Outreach with New Content for March

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) February 25, 2015

Latinas are consistently concerned about diabetes, heart disease and high blood pressure, research shows. Unfortunately, they pay far less attention to preventative care for breast cancer, another serious health threat to Hispanic women.

To help raise awareness about mammograms, the latest cancer research, diet and lifestyle, the Healthy Hispanic Living Website continues in March with new content during the second month of its 90-day Latina Breast Cancer Awareness effort. The outreach is co-sponsored by City of Hope, Breast Cancer Research Foundation, Latinas Contra Cancer and ThinkNow Research, to educate women and their families – and urge screening and preventative measures.

“Many of us have heard of the Hispanic Health Paradox – the fact that U.S. Hispanics live longer with better healthcare outcomes than non-Hispanic whites, despite higher income and education levels for the latter group,” said Roy Eduardo Kokoyachuk, a partner at ThinkNow Research, which studies the U.S. Hispanic demographic.

“Unfortunately, that paradox does not hold up for cancer. There is no protective benefit in being Hispanic when it comes to cancer,” he said. “Only through early detection and treatment will we gain the upper hand on this disease.” Hispanic women have the highest mortality rate from breast cancer than any other cancer.

The A Passionate Pursuit of Prevention campaign is the first of several 90-day efforts by the Healthy Hispanic Living website to highlight health issues effecting Latinos. It focuses on three prongs, including education, sharing stories, and prevention and screening. Visitors can read new articles and watch videos that can help them get beyond the false stereotypes about breast cancer, and understand, for example, how heredity may influence their chances of developing the disease. They can learn the role that diet and exercise play, and about the latest cancer breakthroughs and treatment insights. They can read the stories of Latinas who have lived with the disease, and more.

The new and continually updated content is especially timely, given that research shows a wide disparity in what Latinas understand – and don’t understand about the threat of breast cancer.

For example, only about one-third of millennial Latinas know that 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetimes. Similarly, only one third of young Latinas are concerned about breast cancer, compared with 51 of non-Hispanic white peers,” said Kokoyachuk, whose ThinkNow Research firm pulled findings from its database of 35,000 Hispanic and Latino women. The data also often show a significant gap in understanding between more acculturated Latinas than their less assimilated counterparts, he says.

By banding together through this campaign, Latinas can influence their families and create opportunities to advance the fight against breast cancer.

Erectile Dysfunction Myths Debunked: 40% of Men Seeking Treatment Under 50; Healthy Living Offers Alternative Solution

Tampa Bay, FL (PRWEB) February 23, 2015

While popular belief portrays erectile dysfunction (ED) as a problem limited exclusively to the older generation, the latest research on the subject debunks this myth. In fact, an article published less than three weeks ago reported that “ED affects about 10 percent of men in each decade of life” – with 40 percent of men in their 40’s reporting erection problems. (1)

Despite the apparent prevalence of erection issues, ED rates in younger men have seldom been reviewed. An earlier pioneering study, published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, proved that men of any age can suffer the often devastating effects of ED. Researchers tested both sociodemographic and clinical differences between ED patients over 40 and those 40 and younger and linked ED to harmful lifestyle habits, finding that those under 40 smoked cigarettes and used illicit drugs more frequently. “Undoubtedly, a man’s overall health has a direct effect on sexual performance,” said Robert Drapkin, MD, board-certified physician in Internal Medicine, Medical Oncology and Palliative Care.

Dr. Drapkin explained that understanding erectile dysfunction begins with knowing how the central and peripheral nervous systems, anatomy, emotions, hormones and blood flow all work together to create an erection. Sexual stimulation causes the release of chemicals that make the smooth muscles of the penis to relax and increase blood flow, which causes an erection. Once the chemicals are no longer released, the erection dissipates. “Any pathology along this process can cause problems relating to sexual health,” he said. “There are both emotional and physiological causes, but sexual performance problems are often a symptom of an unhealthy lifestyle.”

While commonly-prescribed pharmaceuticals such as Viagra are a popular approach to treating ED, Dr. Drapkin stresses that drugs are not the sole solution as erectile dysfunction “is very much the result of dietary patterns, and can be an early warning signal of more serious health risks such as heart attack or stroke, which are also diet- and lifestyle-related.” (3) Dr. Drapkin attests that along with many healthcare providers, the general public is unaware of the components of a healthy lifestyle, as demonstrated by the current diabetes epidemic and overuse of many prescription medicines in the U.S. His view is supported by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s estimate that 69% of adults over the age of 20 are overweight or obese. To reduce the risk of developing erectile dysfunction, Dr. Drapkin recommends adopting a healthy lifestyle – including a vigorous exercise program – rather than solely relying on prescription medications such as Viagra which may help in treating erectile dysfunction along the way, but fail to address the need for the individual to improve their health.

“It’s important to address the causes of the issue, rather than accepting ironic marketing messages that state a medical approach is an acceptable alternative to a healthy lifestyle,” Dr. Drapkin added.

Dr. Drapkin’s decades of experience, research and study in the fields of diet and exercise have proven beneficial in helping patients treat and prevent an array of medical conditions. “If diet and exercise are not enough,” he stressed, “then the patient is likely not eating a healthy diet, nor exercising properly.
